  • Go to Google Play store and search for Alexa.

  • Select your name from list of Help Alexa Get to Know You. If your name is not shown on the list, then select I’m Someone Else. 
  • Once you select your name from the list, you can add a nickname, full name or whatever you wish for Alexa to use when messaging and calling on your behalf.
  • Tap Continue and then tapAllow to give permission to Alexa to send and receive calls and messages. You will receive a conformation SMS on your number. Tap on Skip if you do not wish to continue with this feature as of now.
  • Enter your six-digit verification code and tap on Continue to complete the setup.
That’s it. Now get ready to customize Alexa using your phone.

How to Customize Alexa App As Per Your Preferences?


  • Open Amazon Alexa app on your phone and tap on Customize Alexa.
  • Choose the device for which you wish to customize Alexa from the list of devices. You can even setup a new device.
  • Choose the settings that apply to you such as region, time zone, and measurement units.

Using Voice Commands on Alexa


Once you are done setting up the device you can start using Alexa’s skills right away.
  • Open your Amazon Alexa app and tap at the Alexa icon at the bottom of the screen.
  • Allow Alexa to access your microphone, and tap Done.
  • You can activate Alexa by giving her a command or asking a question, such as: Alexa, what is the time right now? Or ‘Alexa can you find me the nearest coffee shop?
